All About Me
Hi, my name is Mrs. Kelly Ann Mikrut. I graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. I am certified by the State of Illinois to teach grades K-9 and have endorsements to teach Upper Elementary to Junior High Language Arts, Social Studies, and Math. I am a four-time Golden Apple Award Nominee. I have taught grades K through 5. My positions include Division Chairperson in Social Studies and Language Arts.
As coordinator of our Extended Day Enrichment Class Program, I plan activities and schedule new vendors to teach extracurricular classes. I am also co-director of St. Constance School's Summer Camp. In addition, I collaborate with a colleague to monitor our school's daily/weekly posts on media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, our Digital Thursday Folder, and our SCS website. During the school year, I serve as chairperson of the Cognia Continuous School Improvement Evaluation process, lead the Catholic Schools' Week Committee; coordinate monthly special lunches, plan our Scholastic Book Fair; manage the use of Title Federal Funds, organize alumni and donor appeal campaigns, and am an active member of the Home and School Association.
On a personal note, I am a native Chicago north-sider and Old Irving Park resident. My husband, Jeffrey, and I have two amazing daughters, Colleen and Erin, who are both St. Constance School alumni. I am a Parkinson's Disease patient and hopeful research advocate.
I am committed to maintaining the high quality of academic excellence that a Catholic education provides. Teaching the students and working alongside the families and faculty of St. Constance School has been rewarding and continues to bring me joy.
